Long time no update.

Its been so long since i updated..coz i havent been in the writing mood. I was getting ready to close down this blog but okay i will update! So much to say..

-Chirstmas was quiet, the first christmas without the family. Christmas eve was spend at Jocelyn's house and met up with Sardine for dinner at Koven on Christmas day.. very quiet.. didnt feel like Christmas this year..

-Boxing day was fun! went to Palau Ubin with some ati section mates. Palau Ubin is on a different island from Singapore where there are villagers living there.. the living conditions are a little rundown but still manageable.. i wouldnt be able to live there for long though. took a boat ride to the island and then straight away hopped on bicycles to explore the island...It was this day that i feel in love with bike riding! the wind blowing in your hair.. sweet! went to Wei Xiang's house for maj jong after.. fun day! i say fun a lot.. hahaha

-New Years Eve was also very quiet. met with Ben M. who came all the way from Aussie! met him at his hotel in Outram Park but i got lost trying to find it.. walked and ran around the place looking for the hotel.. then we headed to the city to meet Kah-hoe also from aussieland and his two cousin. Spend the night walking around the whole city... window shopping. it was tiring walking around and after a while was quiet boring.. but the city lights and deco was nice! very crowded too. headed back to Ben's hotel at 11pm and watched the fireworks at his hotel.. but on tv hahahaha. we could see some fireworks from the room but buildings were covering it and only saw a bit. before singapore's fireworks, saw the ending of Aussie's one... randomness hahaha headed home at 1am and thank God for mrt! on the way back.. called Roy and had a good talk with him until i reached home.. updated each other, i miss that guy. hahaha

-New Years Day met Jocelyn where we headed to the city to meet Kah-hoe and Ben. walked around a bit and then headed to the airport to pick up Mark S. and Jono A. who also came all the way from AussieLand! thanks guys! its quite a big thing to fly all the way here soo yea i really really appreciate it! =)
went to their hotel room which was very cosy and then headed for dinner where they tired roti prata and curry. i had to go back to camp that night so yep camp.

I didnt get to see my friends from aussie a lot when they were here but the times when we saw each other, it was great fun, lots of laughter and we tried a lot of new things.. it was just right! hahaha

i got more to update about Mark and Jono's trip but its 12:28am now and i gotta wake up at 5am to go back to camp.. chinese new year is over.. soo sad.. no more holidays until a long time. soo sad okay got to go.

Update.

its really nice to help ppl.. hahaha on my way to the mrt station on orchard road, an uncle approached me and asked how to go to Ang Mo Kio.. i told him to take the red line but he only had 50c.. i didnt have any change soo i went to buy a blueberry baget from Starbuck and gave him $5 for his ride.. hahaha yeaa random but i always wantted to try a baget so yep.. then i sat at Starbucks coffee eating my bread.. yeaa v nice! anyways i got heaps of things to update..

now i am feeling sad coz i asked my sir if i can take leave during this course and he didnt hestiate at all and just said no. man.. i feel like i wasted mark, avis and ben's money.. man it sucks.. dont feel like blogging anymore..

anyways i pop from the 49th bslc last wk and looking back, it was a really great opporunity.. met new people, fired new weapons and learnt heaps about being a good commander.... yea i am going to miss it even though when i was there i was counting down the days.. the 8wks went quickly!... if you asked me to walk 28km carrying about 7kgs in the night i would told you no way but i cant believe i completed it!! it wasnt as bad as i thought.. we started at Kranji War Memorial at 9pm and for the first 12km we walked on the town areas in kranji.. the weather was awesome coz it rained before so it was cooling and the views were really nice too. after 12km we walked in army field camps sites soo it was just forest and bushes around.. that was went i started to get sleepy and staying awake was a pain. every 4km we had a break soo always looking forward to the next break, it didnt feel very bad.. i closed my eyes nearly falling asleep twice, walking into the bushes hahahahaha after reaching back to camp at 5am... rested a while and then we had our graduation parade. it was nice even though we were in fbo, my legs were killing me and the sound system stuffed up. anyways got my rank and yep i cant believe its all over so fast.. i will miss my section for sure, playing games and joking around with them... ECHO PLATOON 3 thank you for all the good times.

monday reported to ati.. man it is soo far away.. i want to cryyyy. the first job we had was getting rid of the water flood in our bunks hahahaha. i know for sure there will be more jobs like this to come esp in my vocation hahaha.. anyways tues was slack like it was in 41 and the rest of the wk i am on block leave soo yea. its been only 2days so i cant judge ati yet.. but its going to be 5mths.. thats really scary.. but in my bunk there are 2 other 1990 ppl and my buddy is 1991.. he studied in NZ.. soo yeaa dont have to feel like the youngest anymore. and even one guy studied in syd HSC like DONG-CHI.. thats cool.

last night went to Jocelyn's house, slept over and today went to meet Sardine and Raymond for a really late lunch.. ohh yea from Jocelyn's house at Bishan to my house.. wow it was memorable.. i took the bus 88 from the wrong side of the road.. soo went to TOA PAYOH interchange to catch 88 back.... BUT!! i slept on the bus the whole way and woke up at the end when it was reaching PASIR RIS interchange.. soo what to do.. at the interchange took 89 back to my house hahahaha annoying but was tired soo slept hahaha.

anyways Jocelyn is in town soo yay ppl to hang out with hahaha. okay thats about it.. p.s. happy 19th b'day Leo for today and happy 19th b'day Roy for tomorrow. =)

Heyya. Long time no update. But now in blogging mood..My internet at home hasnt been working!! arrr you know how annoying?! soo i am in the library updating and facebooking but i cant use msn... soo how to chat? this is costing me $0.03 a min... nothing is free anymore!! hahaha
soo whats been happening? This mth has been quite happenning. hahaha two field camps, two 10km runs and 2 buffet lunches!! hahaha

okay soo first the field camps, last wk and this wk.. 4days 3 nights, infantry style! the first one was okay.. we learnt section fire movement and yeaa it was quite fun being the sec commander and shouting the commands..... but it was damn tiring.. doing so many fire movements man... damn shack... like doing soc five times in a row hahaa. the low morale bit was at night sleeping on soggy wetish ground... really makes your morale low... but yea surivied it. this wk finished GrandSlam at Tekong. it was actually one of my worst performing field camp... the navigation exercise during the first day i got really painful tummy pains after the second checkpoint and throughout the day i continue to walk with the pain... soo i couldnt really perform and nagivate.... soo i was useless to the team but more of a pain coz they were looking after me.. and we were peer appraised at the end.. sure come in last... arrr had the tummy pains all the way through the field camp. sigh.. not fun. the second day i slept under the sun during the day when we could rest and hahahaha i got a fever so i fall out from the day activies... they excuse me from the "punishing session" in the night which i felt guilty coz i didnt take part with them.. and they also let me sleep with the commanders in the tunnel/big army truck where i didnt have to do "guard duty" and hahaha had a good sleep!! but the second day i took part in the fire movements.. not that tough but man i stuffed up when i was SC...we were contacted left.. okay army talk..it isnt good to talk about it but anyways i was busy loaded a full mag and i forgot to give the FCO but told my section to advance...okay you guys might not understand but i ask me about it and i will tell u... hahahaha it wasnt as shack as the other day soo it was good. but it also was a wet damp field camp and thats not fun.. ohh and we had a 4km route march on the last day. wasnt as bad as last field camp's one for use but it was still painful and i really dont know how i am going to survive the 28km at the end of the course!!!!!! 4 is tiring already... times that by 7.. wow.

10km runs!!!! okay soo i joined up for 10km runs with some friends from my unit. that was before i knew i was going to be promoted to SISPEC. hahahaha wow the first run on the first wk of OCT was RUN FOR HOPE. a charity event for cancer reserch.. at east coast.. that was fun! i ran slowly and didnt stop once soo was constant all the way..felt really fun..but my legs and feet hurt so much the next day morning for the 5bx run haha some pics i stole off -

the second run last wkend..NEW BALANCE REAL RUN (the extreme x-terrain run - jsut to make it sound more pro hahahahaha) but yea we ran on sand, trail and road. and wow it was really tiring.. i stopped a number of times but the run along sand i didnt!! hahaha but yea it was tiring.. but a great experience... i finished it!! ran for 1hr 1min plus.. v slow but was quite tired from field camp and everything okay!!! but the place was really grand and really nice view.. the view like australia.. sigh i miss that place.. the open areas were really nice.. =) hahaha you can see the results on the internet... i came in 369 hahahaha

Okay.. soo plz comment!! and on my way to the library i saw famous singapore stars!!! pretty cool.. i dunno their names even though they are famous.. this comp wouldnt let me go into mediacorp to serch for their names but when i fnd out i will tell you haha but yea they were filming in hougang mall..

A new Change

Heyya its been ages since i last blogged.. coz i wasnt really in a blogging mood. BUT now i got news....

it happened soo quickly it has only just sank in.. I got a Promotion.. i am going to si(x)pec. wait it is not i am going, it is i am at sergeant school.. okay soo how did this promotion all start? well a few few wks back after an inspection at 42, OC drove the runners back to camp first coz he wantted us to work on the maps back at camp. In the car, he asked me what i wantted to do after the guys ORD and i just said truthfully, "I would like to go to SISPEC" of course i added a bit of umm i umm would umm like to ummm go hahahaha it wasnt a straight out sentence like that hahahaha it was like i was thinking of sispec...

then after atec was all over, not thinking much about sispec at all, PC took me aside when we were booking out and talked to me about SISPEC.... he heard from the OC and i confirmed it to him that i wantted to go. He was like why didnt you ever tell me? and i replied coz i was shy hahahaha. then he said he would write a testemonal for me, send it to S1 branch and yea.. see how it goes... i booked out all happy coz my chances of going were looking up and i was excited at the opporunity of going. ohh and thanks Sardine and your dad for sending me home at day!! =) hahahaha

went back to camp the new wk and 2IC approached me about wantting to go to SISPEC. He asked if i was sure i wantted all the field camps again, the tough outfields and i nod and said yes yes yes... soo he said he will help push me there through recommandations and wow he has been pushing and pushing that after like 2 wks, application was accepted and bang i am. In a company training to be a leader... but i never thought it would be this soon.. i thought it would be in like dec.. but wow.. i didnt know i was going until this thursday.. and wow.. having to say good bye to my platoon and friends were liking having to say goodbye to my syd friends at the airport again.. Why is it that we never appreciate what we have until we loose it? why it is that we complain so much but in the end we are going to miss it? i wantted to be posted out coz partly very very partly i was sick of the camp, not sick of the ppl but sick of the overall camp, like the building itself... but how posted out, its worst coz the camp is sooo soo far from my house, i shouldnt have complained about the old one.....

guys in platoon ten and other plt too.... thank you sooooo much for looking after me... man i miss playing with you guys... i miss you like i miss my bmt section and platoon... sigh.. but you guys are going to ord soon, going on to seperate, new and different things. we would have to part anyways... thank you Sardine for being my going home buddy. thanks for including me into things, asking me out for suppers and the great fun we had a raymond's house. i started getting to know you i remember when i first when to Raymond's house and we went home together, we talked and then after that just kept talking and talking to become great friends... there is more ppl i have to thank but than the blog will be very long...

having to fit in and make new friends in a new environment is going to be hard... i am finding it difficult already but i guess this takes time.. like the first time i entered the tankiees bunk, i thought how i am going to be friends like these ppl but look what happened, i miss them now!! they were not what i expected, they are such great ppl really... i am also feeling the pressure to be a thinking leader..having to stand up but i am soo shy soo arrrhhh . but i wantted to go as Xiang Hui and Sardine put it nicely "i want more out of my army life"

soo two days passed and whats it like? so far like bmt, lights out timing, no afternoon naps, and arrrrr the thought of being platoon ic! scary!!

anyways... last wkend was fun.. Sardine's b'day at town... when for SUSHI PEI where i didnt eat a lot!!! was still hungry lor unlike the SUSHI buffet last time hahaha that was good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! played pool.. which was soo fun coz teamed up with Heng Hieng but kept loosing and didnt want to give up soo we played until we won which was 6 games hahahaha. pool is pretty fun with friends!! great fun. then went to Herny's b'day party.. it wasnt what i expected but yea it was fun.. i thought it would be wild and crazy but it was quite simple and the food was good. great day out!!
